Présentation
Butoh dance is a contemporary performative art born in Japan, after the Second World War, from a need to understand the body and dance in a different way, distancing from the aesthetics of Western dance and productivism and consumerism of capitalist society.
It is inspired by the subconscious, the dream world, the shadow of the body and society, the invisible : everything that we don’t see under the imposition of light. A dance that approaches the beauty of life in its entirety. A more metamorphic than metaphorical dance that seeks to create experiences below the social body we normally use, conditioned by the system that surrounds us.
The aim of this workshop is to introduce us to this art, whether it is your first time in performing arts or if you have already practiced Butoh in other occasions. Tools will be given for the investigation, improvisation and creation from different starting points. It is not a serie of movement sequences to be integrated, but that each person finds their own dances.
No experience in performing arts or movement is necessary to attend the workshop.
The workshop is going to be taught in English with the possibilty of translation.
